Sub: Sanction of Composite transfer grant to the members of West Bengal Judicial Service as per recommendations of the Shetty Commission.
Sir,
I am directed to invite a reference to the above and to say that in supersession of all previous orders issued in this respect the Governor has been pleased to sanction Composite transfer grant with retrospective effect from 1st April, 2007 to all members of West Bengal Judicial Service. The Composite Transfer grant shall be equal to one month’s Basic Pay in case of transfer involving change of station located at a distance more than 20 kms from each other.
In case of transfer to stations which are less than 20 kms from the old station or transferred within the same city, the Composite transfer grant will be restricted to one third of the Basic Pay provided a change of residence is actually involved.
This excludes incidental expenses of the Government Servant and members of his family and expenses to go from the residence to Railway Station, Bus Stand/Air Port.
The charge is debitable from the sub-detailed head “07-other Allowances” subordinate to the Detailed Head “01-Salaries” under the respective salary heads of the concerned Judicial Officers.
This order is issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide their U.O. No.3192 dated 31.08.2006.
