Sub: Grant of encashment of leave and leave salary as per recommendations of Shetty Commission.

Sir,

I am directed by order of the Governor to say that Governor has been pleased to allow all Judicial Officers of West Bengal Judicial Service with retrospective effect from the 1st November, 1999 to encash leave not exceeding one month in a block period of two years.

Provided further that member of erstwhile West Bengal Higher Judicial Service will also be entitled to such benefit w.e.f. 01.11.1999 till the date of their retirement or elevation to High Court as the case may be.
The bills of retired Judicial Officers or those who are elevated to High Court may be sent drawn from the establishment where their last pay bills were drawn.

The Governor has also been pleased to decide that notwithstanding anything contained in any other circular/Rule framed by the State Government in this matter the benefit of availing encashment of leave will be extended to all Judicial Officers of the West Bengal Judicial Service without insisting on the availment of leave simultaneously.

The charge will be debitable from such detailed/sub-detailed head of accounts as will be assigned by your office.

The order is issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide their U.O. No.3192 dated 31.08.2006.
