    The aforesaid G.O. is suppressed by a new G.O. 4730-F dated 25.05.1999.
    Which one do you prefer?

No the above G.O.s will not be applicable for IPS Officer. It is a civil service of Govt. of India. Following G.O. is applicable for them. (which is latest).

the ta.pdf file regarding ips officers which u hav provided has helped me a lot. but there is a little confusion. in the para 4C of the annex to the OM,dt.23.09.2008. contained in the file,a single rate regarding transportation of personal effects by road has been given. but in swamy’s handbook-2011,cities has been classified into x,y,and z categories as per classification of cities for the purpose of admissibility of house rent allowance as per OM,dt.08.06.2010. which one will we consider? another confusion is in the annex the rate by road is given as Rs.18 per km (Rs.0.30 per kg per km).if 6000 kgs is transported then the amt per km stands at Rs.18.but if less than 6000 kgs is being transported will the rate be Rs.18 or less?
