My colleague joined the school on 13th September 2008. Due to Open- heart surgery she had taken her remaining 19 m.l. and 45 half pay leave till 29th August 2012 (as total half pay leave credited from 13-09-2008 to 13-09-2011 is 45). Again she had to take 10 leaves from 31-08-2012 to 09-09-2012 for suffering from pneumonia. Can she avail M.L/other leave in advance? If so please mention G.O. no.

In exceptional circumstances, a teacher or a non-teaching employee of a school may be granted leave not exceeding 18 months; provided the whole case is reported to the Board with a concrete proposal which shall have to be approved by the Board. For details see Clause 5 of GO No. 1541-Edn (S) /21-2/77, dated 15.12.1977
But as this is a case of past, I don’t think your colleague would be benefited now. Anyway, consult your HM for details.
