One of my cousin sisters DOB falls on 21.01.2003. She reads in Class IX and stands first in her school. She has to stay in Class IX for two years because of her DOB. Her father doesn’t want to change her DOB which differs from Birth Certificate. As per school, there is no way out for any relaxation on this DOB criteria except change in DOB (i.e. on or before 31.10.2002).
Please discuss the issue on the relaxation in age bar in Class IX Registration. There are numerous student who change his/her date of birth (different DOB what in appears in Birth Certificate) to get them eligible for registration. It results to the discrepancy in his/her DOB and a cause of a serious future problem.
Please discuss on the followings:
1. Whether the DOB criteria i.e., 31.10.2002 for this year registration is strictly to be followed as most HMs do!!!!
2. What procedure should be followed for this particular case to register her without changing DOB???July 21, 2015 at 12:16 pm #80805unknownParticipantTo be true to you query I must accept that the changing of DOB for the sake of appearance in the Madhyamik Exam is almost a normal practice among the parents. But the HMs have to adhere strictly to the guidelines prescribed by the WBBSE circulars regarding the minimum age bar of the proposed candidates. At present age of the aspiring candidates is meant to be calculated as per this particular circular until any further order is issued.

Not most of the HMs but all the HMs are to be adhered to this guideline. Even if an HM sends one or more cases without bothering about this norm, the Board would mark those as “UNDERAGE” and refuse to register.
2) If an HM needs to register such candidate, he will have to visit the Secretary, WBBSE for special permission.July 21, 2015 at 1:55 pm #80807unknownParticipantA good number of HM does not follow the rule due to their ignorance. But the students face the problem. Besides this, a lot of guardian also admit his student in class V in spite of the warning of the HM.

They will guide you through the process. For example, they will ask for the Academic Records of the candidate concerned (may be for last two or three years), his/her daily attendance record, DOB Proof, Guardian’s Prayer and Declaration Letter, Resolution of the School Managing Committee etc.
