Daily Allowance is a uniform allowance for each day of absence from headquarter which is intended to cover the ordinary daily charges incurred by a Govt employee in consequence of such absence while on tour. https://wbxpress.com/daily-allowances/
August 18, 2011 at 11:01 pm #64661unknownParticipantconsequent upon the implementation of the wb(ropa)rules2009;pay of the employees has been revised but the rates of daily allowances(ta/da) has not been revised yet.how will then the amount of daily allowances be calculated?
August 19, 2011 at 9:53 pm #64662WBXPressKeymasterthe amount of daily allowances is calculated as per the existing rates for different pay ranges. at present pay means basic pay + grade pay. accordingly these rate are determined.
August 19, 2011 at 10:18 pm #64663unknownParticipantunfortunately the kolkata pay and accounts office is raising objection on determining pay as pay in pay band plus grade pay.they are suggesting to calculate the pay in the prerevised scale and then to determine the rate of daily allowance.
August 19, 2011 at 11:06 pm #64664WBXPressKeymasterAs per Rule 5 of WBSR, pay means the amount drawn by a Government employee as the pay, other than special pay or pay granted in view of his personal qualifications, which has been sanctioned for a post held by him substantively.
As per existing order (No. 4730-F dated 25/05/99) of TA/DA, pay is defined as per the quoted rule of WBSR.
As per sub-rule (h) of Rule 3 of West Bengal Revision of Pay & Allowances '09, basic pay in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed pay band plus applicable grade pay but does not include any other type of pay.
So, this is really unfortunate as you said.
As per T.R. Form No. 23 (West Bengal Form No. 2446B) there is a provision of taking advance regarding TA/DA. But no provision for arear.
Then why an employee accept DA rate in pre-revised scale?August 21, 2011 at 9:12 pm #64665unknownParticipantcan't you please draw attention of the concerned authority to clear the confusion?
