Maternity Leave is admissible for 6 weeks in case of miscarriage and abortion. The application of leave is supported by a certificate from a registered medical practitioner. (Rule 199 of West Bengal Service Rule which is applicable for School Teachers).
There may be separate G.O. specifically for School Education Department, which I shall provide you later. Thank you.

    Hi,

Is it a mandate that unless the university incorporates the circular in their statute, college teachers under that university cannot avail 180 days maternity leave? or is it upon the college’s discretion to allow for the maternity leave for 180 days irrespective of the university statute being passed? Can someone please suggest?
    Thanks.
