    Want a general discussion on Maternity Leave mentioning its enhancement time to time at least from 1980. At present ML=180 days (w.e.f ), Previously it was 135 days(w.e.f ),120 days (w.e.f= ?), 90 days (w.e.f= ?)

    No effect date is mentioned there except in the last one. This is why, the effect dates are not mentioned here.

    Where the date of effect in not mentioned, there the date of notification is consider as effecting date.

    Hiii…before how many days of delivery a woman can take maternity leave??

    There is no hard and fast rule regarding this. But one would be allowed to take ML after obtaining the Doctor’s Certificate mentioning the probable date of delivery and medical advice and of course the leave should cover the date of delivery.
