Maternity leave for contractual teacher . . .. .
March 1, 2012 at 6:47 pm #71486unknownParticipantLady Part Time Teachers in Higher Secondary Schools may avail Maternity Leave as per Memo No. 188-SE(HS)/3S-03/06 dated 28/12/2007 of School Education Department, Higher Secondary Branch. According to this order 120 days maternity leave is admissible. However, G.O. for the enhanced number of maternity leave is not yet found by me.

Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700 091.
Sub: Lady Part-time teachers in Higher Secondary Schools [as on 01.04.2007] availing of absence on Maternity grounds.
The undersigned is directed to state that part-time teachers of Higher Secondary Schools may avail of the following:
(a) Absence of maternity ground One hundred twenty (120) days of such absence may be availed of by Lady part-time teachers.
These one hundred twenty days may be availed of according to the convenience of the incumbent.
Application for such absence shall be made at least one month prior to proceeding on such grounds.
Such period of absence shall be sanctioned by the Managing Committee of the School on production of medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
The Managing Committee of the School should ensure that the teaching-learning process is not adversely affected due to such absence of the teacher concerned.
This order issues without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the State Government in framing policy guidelines regarding Higher Secondary Schools in the State.
