Hi friends.
I want to quite from W.B.H.S. if I find a good substitute of the scheme.
Please let me know the procedure to quite from the scheme and help me find an alternative of it which can provide my family all kind of medical facilities through out India without the hazards of reimbursement and within the same cost.October 21, 2012 at 8:44 am #74891unknownParticipantRe: Quit from W.B.H.S. and find substitute.
I strongly oppose the idea of quitting WBHS, 2008. In my opinion there is no better alternative.October 23, 2012 at 8:52 am #74931unknownParticipant“I want to quite from W.B.H.S. if I

As per rule you have to wait 5 years without claiming any benefit of the scheme. And I think its impossible and so you cannot quit it.
And for this reason I avoided the scheme.October 23, 2012 at 12:44 pm #74934unknownParticipantAs per rule you have to wait 5 years without claiming any benefit of the scheme
I think its not totally correct. If someone has never enjoyed any benefit under this scheme, can opt out anytime simply by submitting a letter to the Controlling Officer. Lets see what the Rule Says.
An employee shall have the liberty to opt out of this scheme at any time.
Provided that where an employee or his beneficiary has enjoyed any benefit under this scheme, such employee shall not be allowed to opt out the scheme within five years from the month following the month in which he enjoyed the benefit.
*Government Decisions:-
An opt-out employee/ pensioner will not get re-entry into the Scheme. (Vide Memo No. 797-F (MED) dt. 31-01-2011)

As both of us (my wife & myself) joined this discriminative scheme from its inception. But we had to surrender the MA for both of us. Which amounting us Rs. 7200/-. After continuing for more than one & half year, we have opted for quite it out. Having without any cover finaly we choose LIC JEEVAN ARAGYO from 02-12. Now we are paying Rs. 11000/- + as a 35<45 family grop for health insurence with a covering of 2,00,000/- each for ma 8+ yr old daughter, my wife and for myself.October 23, 2012 at 3:33 pm #74940unknownParticipantThanks for the info 10moy da. Please write more about the policy. What are the reason behind choosing the policy after opting out W.B.H.S.?

As I am badly engaged in Durga Puja at my home so will discuss the matrer very soon but you may look through the following linkDecember 28, 2012 at 5:00 pm #76196unknownParticipantQuitting may surely be a personal decision. But I highlight some features of WBHS 08 here. It has no sum assured limit, like 1 lac or 2 lac etc. policy. It is hundred % reimbursable (for enlisted hos). No ceiling at all. Premium paid is cheaper compared to coverage and age factor of other conventional health ins. policy. Some demerits are : long wait when the matters are getting sanctioned from writers. This is due to our ill fated work culture and negligence by dealing persons. Files are not moved without persuations. Wrong conception or faulty or unclear conception by dealing staffs is also causing hindrance in timely and correct disposal about the amount to be sanctioned. Otherwise I feel it is OK. In conventional policies also there are claim settlement disputes.
December 29, 2012 at 7:42 pm #76210unknownParticipantI think Mr. Partha Choudury is correct. LIC’s JEEVAN ARAGYO is not an appropriate health insurance rather it is a ULIP based heath insurance policy. Oriental, United India also offer some good family floater policies. But I am also confuse which one should I choose.
December 31, 2012 at 3:55 pm #76219unknownParticipantI also think that there is no better alternative than WBHS. So, please do not quit.
